Kaleidoskopisch betrachtet er das emotionale Auf und Ab des Lebens und versucht
dessen bittersüssen Geschmack mit seiner Gitarre einzufangen. Vielseitig bewegt sich
die Musik zwischen verträumten Melodien und energiegeladenen Off-Beats, zwischen
entspannten Reggae-Rhythmen und treibendem Rock.
Tawara Shen Kool ist rastlos unterwegs. Ob an der Festspieleröffnung in Salzburg alsARGEALP-Musikpreisträger 2009, zwei Monate in Kalifornien, in Paris, San Francisco,
Bern oder Berlin. Tawara Shen Kool kennt keine Grenzen und feiert die Vielfalt dieser
Erde. Neue Eindrücke treiben voran und inspirieren … Die Vielfalt ist Programm und
prägt auch das neue Album «YES!».
Die Abenteuerlust ist auf «YES!» herauszuhören. Bluegrass-Einflüsse aus Kalifornien
äussern sich in Mandoline und Banjo. Die Geige gibt der Musik einen Hauch Zigeunercharme
und mit der brasilianischen Sängerin Dyna findet auch eine Priese Weiblichkeit
ihren Platz auf der neuen Platte. «YES!» nimmt den Hörer mit auf eine Reise durch viele
Stile und Stimmungen. Aufgenommen und produziert wurde die CD von Simon Jäger
und Tawara Shen Kool.

“YES!” is the follow-up answer to the previous EP “doing fine?”
With the release of “YES!” Tawara Shen Kool present their first full-length album. The
band’s debut takes the listener on an exciting journey, the story of which is told from
the perspective of Songwriter Flo Zilla. Kaleidoscopically, Flo Zilla describes the ups
and downs of life while attempting to capture its bitter sweet taste with his guitar. The
band’s eclectic sound ranges from dreamy melodies to energetic off-beats, from laidback
Reggae rhythms to driving Rock.
Tawara Shen Kool have been restlessly on the road. Whether at the opening of the Salzburg
Festival (Salzburger Festspiele) as winners of the ARGEALP Music Competition
2009, during a two-month stay in California, in Paris, San Francisco, Berne, or Berlin –
Tawara Shen Kool know no limits und celebrate the rich variety of our world. New impressions
are inspiring and advancing … Variety is the name of the game and thus also
a main characteristic of the new record “YES!”.
A spirit of adventure is apparent on “YES!”. Californian bluegrass influences show in
Tawara Shen Kool’s use of mandolin and banjo, the violin gives a gypsy touch to the
sound, and the band’s collaboration with the Brazilian singer Dyna adds some femininity
to the album, too. “YES!” takes the listener on a ride through many genres and
moods. It was recorded and produced by Tawara Shen Kool together with producer
Simon Jaeger.
